Keil Monette-Saillant, P.Eng, PMP

Keil founded Mavericks BC after retiring as a Major from the Canadian Armed Forces, where he led construction engineering operations for the Air Force and Navy. He brings an uncommon work ethic, a project-management framework borrowed from military operational planning, and the steady judgement of someone who has reviewed a lot of drawings under a lot of pressure.

Mike Hiotakis

Mike joined the firm in 2019 after running his own residential design practice in Victoria for over a decade. Originally from Boston, he moved to Salt Spring to start a family and built a deep background in rammed-earth construction, 3D modeling, steel fabrication, and rendering along the way.

A serious artist with a grounded sense of bylaws and structural limits — Mike's designs are buildable, integrated into their landscape, and quietly beautiful.

Daniel Rachid

Daniel joined in 2020 after extensive experience in multi-story concrete, masonry and steel. His master's in structural engineering at the University of Alberta showed a rare grasp of fundamentals; his portfolio includes the Kelowna Mercedes-Benz Dealership and the iconic Roxy Theatre in Edmonton.

Daniel runs our Autodesk Robot Structural workflow, which integrates directly into our Revit models — letting us adjust designs at speed without losing engineering rigour.

Roger Saillant

Roger spent 20+ years as a building technician with Dubé-Matte in Montreal, then ran his own residential and multi-unit general contracting company before joining the team. He brings deep technical drafting skills paired with hands-on construction experience — he knows how things build, and he knows how to communicate that on the plans.

April Gana-an

April is a talented draftsperson who likes to think outside the box. She works alongside our senior building designer, modeling projects in Revit and assisting clients as their designs take shape. Originally from the Philippines, April is happy to call the west coast home.

Goose

Mavericks' resident golden retriever and unofficial mascot. PhD in Puppy Happiness and Development. His recruitment strategy is simple but effective: if you have treats, you're in. Office morale officer, door guardian, and aspiring social-media influencer.
